Norway to Invade Poland, Three Citizens Respond

We held a discussion between three ordinary citizens of Norway, Denmark, and Poland. Here is a transcript of their conversation.

Pole: Why do you feel the need to invade Poland? It seems pointless, there is nothing of importance near the area you intend to invade! Why bring an army? There is no army where you plan to invade, just barren fields.

Norwegian: Then why are you so concerned? If there is nothing of interest, why do you care?

Pole: You intend to challenge our sovereignty for nothing!

Dane: I see no reason for concern. You say there’s nothing, the Norwegian disagrees. If there’s nothing, they’ll leave.

Pole: You see no problem with letting a foreign army walk through your country?

Dane: We will obviously ensure they do not cause trouble.

Pole: Really? How? Enlighten me on how you’ll stop them from marching straight up to your house.

Norwegian: We have a formal agreement in place, why would we lie?

Dane: It’s a valid question.

Pole: For so many reasons! Didn’t you kill their leader's father or something? Didn’t you take over Norway.

Dane: Yes, and now they want Poland. We don’t want them or Poland, so why not let them leave? Why disturb the peace?

Pole: My god you’re dense.

Dane: I’m dense!? You’re dense; I have the cards, you don’t have any cards.

Pole: If you were about to be invaded, you’d realize how we feel.

Dane: We will not be invaded, our king Claudius would never let that happen.

Pole: I’m not saying you will be, but what you are doing is irresponsible-

Norwegian: We would never invade Denmark.

Dane: There you go.

Choices / Thought Process Some parts of this discussion took inspiration from a recent meeting between two presidents. I choose to make this a discussion to better parallel modern discourse that cannot be captured by competent journalists.
